About Me.
My name is Spencer Sarachek. I am seventeen years old from Scarsdale, New York. I am the youngest of five children, and I’ve often been a sponge of my siblings’ influence. As I move onto the next phase of my life, I consider my own influence, the stories I hope to share, and the bonds I hope to build, and the experiences I hope to have. I first developed my passion for storytelling through music. I would write songs and re-interpret classics to express emotions I adequately convey in words. The first element of film I came to appreciate was the score. I noticed how connected I felt to my favorite movies through their soundtracks. It is not about complexity, catchiness or structure. Instead, it is about eliciting emotion from the audience. Even the simplest monotonous tone can have a dramatic effect on the viewer. Then, I realized that each component of filmmaking has its own complimentary effect. The lighting, camera movement, and blocking all contribute to reach a very specific desired effect. As I become more well-versed in each facet of film development and production, I find my imagination expanding with possibilities of stories to tell.
